Understanding Cholesterol: Cholesterol is essential for the body to function properly. However, an excess of cholesterol can accumulate in the blood vessels, obstructing blood flow and increasing the risk of heart diseases.
To combat this, it is crucial to lower cholesterol levels. Recently, dietitian Manpreet Kalra shared a video on Instagram demonstrating how to prepare a tea that can help dissolve cholesterol and eliminate it from the body. The preparation is quite simple.
Tea Recipe for Cholesterol Reduction
To make this tea, you will need one and a half cups of water, half a teaspoon of Arjuna bark powder, 4 to 5 basil leaves, one inch of grated ginger, half a teaspoon of turmeric, and 1-2 cloves of garlic.
Start by boiling all the ingredients in water. Once the water reduces to half, sip it slowly. It is recommended to drink this tea on an empty stomach to help maintain cholesterol levels.
Additional Home Remedies
- Plain ginger water is also effective in reducing cholesterol. Boiling ginger cut into small pieces in water can be beneficial.
- Incorporating turmeric into your diet can be helpful. You can drink turmeric milk or add turmeric to your meals. Drinking turmeric water also provides medicinal benefits.
- Consuming raw amla or drinking amla water is effective due to its high vitamin C content, which helps lower cholesterol.
- Drinking green tea can also aid in cholesterol reduction and assist with weight management. It can be consumed on an empty stomach in the morning and evening.
- Flaxseeds can be included in a cholesterol-controlling diet. These seeds are rich in fiber. You can consume ground flaxseed powder or eat roasted flaxseeds for benefits.
