India’s renewable energy expansion is being keenly watched amid an anticipated rise in demand, decarbonisation commitments and data centre additions. The green energy capacity is led by solar, which anchors the country’s 272 GW non-fossil sources. With around 35 GW added this financial year alone, the structural shift shows rapid solar scaling, related grid planning, and manufacturing priorities as the country advances toward its 500 GW target by 2030.
