Imtiaz Ali finds his female lead in Sara Arjun for the upcoming film Heer Ranjha

Who are the leads of 'Heer Ranjha'? That has been a frequent question ever since presenter and producer Ektaa R Kapoor announced the love story on February 14. Now, industry sources have indicated to mid-day that Sara Arjun, who caught everyone's attention with 'Dhurandhar' (2025), is the top contender to play the female lead in Sajid Ali's directorial venture.

A source revealed, “The team is looking for a relatively fresh face. After ‘Dhurandhar’, Sara has emerged as one of the most promising young actors today. She is among the strongest names being evaluated for Heer.”
Imtiaz Ali and Rohit Saraf
is said to play Ranjha in the love saga, but his confirmation is hinged on the chemistry between the two leads. ‘Heer Ranjha’ will go on floors by the summer of 2026.
