Five Rajya Sabha seats in Bihar, four in NDA’s account

Elections are to be held for five Rajya Sabha seats in Bihar. According to the current political equations, four seats are likely to go to NDA’s account, while suspense remains for one seat. Discussion has started on the name of Tejashwi Yadav from the Grand Alliance on this seat, but no official announcement has been made yet.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Giriraj Singh commented on the discussions about Tejashwi’s Rajya Sabha election. He said, “We have come to know that only Yuvraj wants to go, now he is bored from here. It is good, let’s try fighting.” On this matter, JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said that in the RJD Parliamentary Board meeting, it was decided that Lalu Yadav has not had confidence in Tejashwi Yadav for a long time, hence he has kept the signature and party symbols safe with himself. Now the Parliamentary Board will finally decide who will be the Rajya Sabha candidate.

Giriraj Singh also targeted Rahul Gandhi

Amidst the discussion about Rajya Sabha elections, Giriraj Singh also attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He said, “Rahul Gandhi is the crown prince of the fake Gandhi family. He can keep whoever he wants in the party and expel whoever he wants. Tejashwi Yadav is the crown prince of Lalu. This is not a democratic party. His statement has further intensified the political movements. Many political analysts are considering it as a part of the ongoing tussle between the Grand Alliance and the NDA.

RJD had held a meeting of the Parliamentary Board on March 1, 2026 regarding the Rajya Sabha elections. The selection of Rajya Sabha candidate was discussed in this meeting. It was decided in the meeting that whoever the candidate is, he will file the nomination on the last day (5 March). RJD authorized Tejashwi Yadav and Lalu Yadav to carry out the candidate selection and nomination process. However, it is not yet clear whether Tejashwi Yadav’s name will be confirmed or not.
