Filmmaker Chidambaram Poduval, known for directing the Malayalam blockbuster Manjummel Boys, has been booked in Kochi following a se*xual harassment complaint linked to an alleged incident from 2022. Police confirmed that a case was registered after a woman from the film industry filed a formal complaint.

According to a News 18 report, the Ernakulam South Police Station recorded the complainant’s statement and registered the case on March 1 under Sections 74 and 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. These sections relate to assault or use of criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty and s*xual harassment.

Police officials stated that the alleged incident took place in 2022 at an apartment in Kochi. The complainant has accused the director of trespassing into her residence and harassing her. Authorities have said that further investigation, including examination of evidence, will follow. A notice will be issued asking Chidambaram Poduval to appear for questioning. There has been no public response from him so far.

Chidambaram Poduval is a filmmaker in the Malayalam film industry who has made a name for himself by being clear in his narrative and realistic in his approach. Apart from films, Chidambaram Poduval has also directed advertisements for various brands, including those in India and abroad, including a project shot in New York for an apparel brand.

Presently, he is working on his next project with some renowned production companies, and he is again working in films and ads. He works with the theme of simplicity, clarity, and quality.
