Mumbai: Vijay Deverakonda, along with his wife Rashmika Mandanna, visited his hometown of Thummanapeta, Telangana, after their wedding. The couple and Vijay’s family were there to perform the grihapravesam (house-warming ceremony) and the Satyanarayana Vratam puja at their new home. During the occasion, the actor announced scholarships for class IX and X students in local government schools. The announcement led to a loud round of applause.
The video of the occasion showed Vijay in an orange T-shirt and trousers, along with Rashmika and his parents. Vijay’s initiative through his charitable trust for 44 government schools in the Achampet Division of Telangana drew the appreciation of those present at the function. Rashmika and his mother were visibly seen beaming with joy. He also assured the people of the village that he would visit more often.
Fans of the actor took to social media to laud his efforts. Some even thought that Vijay could pull off a political career. “I wouldn’t be surprised if VD becomes CM in the next 30 years.” Another called him: “Hero in the true sense.”
Vijay and Rashmika tied the knot in Udaipur. The pictures of the couple’s intimate wedding went viral on social media. Their attire, along with the ceremony’s unique theme, was widely discussed. Vijay’s sartorial choice particularly stood out. With aalta on his hands and the ensemble of a king, Vijay embodies both masculinity and femininity with ease. The couple will throw a grand reception in Hyderabad on March 4.
The couple has been rumoured to be dating for a long time. However, the two have always been tight-lipped. They reportedly got engaged in October 2025. On the professional front, Rashmika and Vijay will be seen together in the upcoming film Ranabaali, slated for release in September 2026.
Previously, they have acted together in Geetha Govindam (2018) and Dear Comrade (2019),
