Emma Raducanu's former coach Francisco Roig seems to have swiftly re-entered the coaching circle at Indian Wells following their surprising separation. The British number one made another change to her training regime as she split from the Spaniard in January.
The world number 24 has had a challenging start to the 2026 season, initially showing signs of improvement last year when she started working with Rafael Nadal's former coach. However, following her second-round exit from the Australian Open, she and Roig terminated their partnership.
Roig has since been seen with ATP Tour player Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. The world number 54 is ramping up his preparations at Indian Wells, where the unseeded Italian will face Poland's Kamil Majchrzak in the first round.

The journey to Roland Garros continues with Indian Wells as Raducanu begins her tournament in the second round. The 25th-seed for the tournament will be in mixed doubles action on Wednesday, alongside Elena-Gabriela Ruse, when they take on third-seeds Kateina Siniaková and Taylor Townsend.
This will be the first time that Raducanu steps onto the court since her switch from Nike to Uniqlo. The 23-year-old followed in Roger Federer's footsteps by joining the Japanese casualwear brand.

Raducanu will have a significant input in the design of her on-court outfits. This agreement marks the second major clothing deal of her fledgling career, having previously partnered with Nike throughout her career.
The decision to part ways with Roig after six months generated headlines about Raducanu. The Spaniard was the ninth coach that the Brit had since her stunning victory at the US Open.
However, former British number one Laura Robson quickly came to the 23-year-old's defence regarding the coaching situation. She said: "I think we make such a big deal out of the coaching situation.
"As long as she is feeling happy on the court, as long as she's confident out there then that's half the job done. That's what coaches try and bring out in you when you do have one."
Roig could be tasked with steering Mpetshi Perricard back to form having suffered a downturn since his breakout season two years ago - reaching a career high 29th in the world in February 2025.
He has won the Lyon Open and the Swiss Indoors title but has struggled in the last 12 months. Roig has Grand Slam-winning experience after working alongside Nadal's uncle Tony during the Spaniard's supremacy.
The coach has also worked with Matteo Berrettini before joining forces with Raducanu until their partnership ended after her Australian Open second-round defeat.
Since parting ways with Roig, it has been a mixed run of tournaments for Raducanu. She reached the Transylvania Open final after dropping just one set in four matches but was beaten by the third-seed Sorana Cîrstea in straight sets.
Last month, the 23-year-old was forced to retire from her first-round match in Qatar when trailing in the deciding set after Colombian Camila Osorio hit back in the second to win 6-4.
