1. Share Live Location without leaving chat
Coordinating a meetup just got simpler. Google Messages now lets you share your real-time location directly within a conversation, powered by Find Hub. Both you and the person you are chatting with can see each other on a live map — no need to switch between apps. You decide how long to share your location, and you can stop at any time. Whether you are being picked up from the airport or trying to find each other at a packed concert venue, this makes the process far less frustrating.
2. Lost luggage? Share its location with the airline
Losing a bag at the airport is stressful enough without having to rely entirely on airline staff to find it. A new Find Hub feature now lets you share the live location of a tracker tag attached to your luggage directly with your participating airline. Staff can then use that link to locate the bag and keep you updated. You remain in control — you choose when to share the link and when to revoke access.
3. Discover new apps through short videos on Google Play
Finding a new app worth downloading is about to feel a lot more like scrolling through social media. Google Play is introducing Play Shorts — a feed of short-form videos that show apps in action before you download them. From fitness and wellness tools to photography, shopping, and webtoon apps, you can watch a quick clip to get a real sense of how an app works. It is a much faster way to decide whether something is worth your time.
4. Personalise Caller ID with Custom Calling Card
When you call someone, they will now see more than just your name and number. Android's new Calling Card feature lets you design a personalised caller ID screen with your own photo, font, and colour scheme. You can choose to show it to all incoming calls or limit it to saved contacts only. It is a small touch, but it makes calls feel noticeably more personal — and you can update or remove your Calling Card whenever you like.
5. Teacher-approved games in parked car
If you have children and spend time waiting in a parked car — school pickups, long stops on road trips — Android Auto now has a solution. A new selection of Teacher Approved games, designed for children aged 3 to 12, is available directly on your car's dashboard screen. Titles include Disney Coloring World, Marvel HQ, LetraKid: Writing ABC for Kids, Draw a Stickman: EPIC 3, and more. The games are both educational and entertaining, giving kids something constructive to do while the car is parked.
6. Emoji Kitchen
Emoji Kitchen — Google's tool for combining two emojis into a new, custom sticker — has received a fresh batch of combinations. Highlights include a cheesy rose and a saxophone-playing skunk. The new stickers are available through Gboard and can be sent directly in chats. It is a lighthearted update, but for anyone who communicates heavily through emojis, the new combinations add a fun new layer of expression.
