Bridgerton star Yerin Ha has secured another thrilling role following her breakthrough turn in the Netflix sensation's fourth season.

Ha played the stunning yet modest servant Sophie Baek in the beloved period drama, alongside Luke Thompson's charming Benedict Bridgerton, who becomes smitten with her at a masquerade ball.

Mere days after the second instalment of the latest season dropped on the streaming platform last Thursday (26th February), the actress has been confirmed to be heading back to the stage in a production of a legendary play alongside another recognisable talent.

The Bridgerton actress will star in Jean Genet's "masterpiece" 1947 drama The Maids at the St. Ann's Warehouse theatre in Brooklyn from 17th May through to 14th June.

It previously ran at the Donmar Warehouse in London last year from October through November, reports the Mirror.

Regrettably, this leaves Bridgerton devotees with just a limited timeframe to catch the emerging star's latest performance, and they'll need to travel to New York as well.

Those fortunate theatre-goers are in for something special, however, as Ha will be appearing alongside House of the Dragon's Phia Saban plus Olivier Award nominee Lydia Wilson, who recently featured in Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue.

Kip Williams is directing the reimagining after the triumph of his version of The Picture of Dorian Gray, a solo production featuring Succession's Sarah Snook.

The fresh take on the Genet masterpiece pledges to "reset" the narrative for the "digital age". Saban and Wilson are taking on the roles of the titular maids, Solange and Claire, whilst Ha will play their mistress, known simply as Madame.

A synopsis reads: "With their mistress away, two maids act out their darkest fantasies about Madame, their abusive 'influencer' employer.

"They obsessively role-play all day long, to the point of 'murdering' her, until performance and reality begin to blur.

"Williams' contemporary take is a timely parable about modern identity and the destructive desire to both emulate and annihilate those we idolise."

The Daily Mail praised the production as "wildly extravagant" and "superbly done", whilst The Guardian described it as "exhilarating" in glowing reviews.

For those unable to travel to New York, Ha's other work includes significant roles in the Halo series on Paramount+, Netflix's Australian survival thriller The Survivors, and a recurring part in HBO's Dune: Prophecy.

Bridgerton is available to stream on Netflix.
