Udupi: Police have arrested five persons in connection with the stabbing of Hindu Yuva Sene leader Manju Kola in Udupi.
The arrested accused have been identified as Prajesh, Puneeth, Amruth, Abhijith and another individual, all residents of Palimaru.
Incident details
According to police, Manju Kola was called to hold a mediation in connection with a relationship issue. During the discussion, an argument reportedly broke out, and one of the youths allegedly stabbed him.
He sustained injuries to the abdomen and collapsed at the spot. He was later admitted to a private hospital in Udupi for treatment.
Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar said the attack took place due to personal reasons and had no communal background. He appealed to the public not to spread rumours.
Police confirmed that Manju Kola is out of danger and his condition is stable. Further investigation is underway.
