Green chilies – 1-2

Mustard oil – 2 tablespoons


Cumin seeds – 1/2 teaspoon


Curry leaves – 5-6 leaves


Turmeric – 1/4 teaspoon


Salt – to taste


Sugar – 1/2 teaspoon


Lemon – juice of 1/2 lemon


Step-by-Step Instructions:


Step 1: Prepare the Poha


Rinse the Poha 2-3 times in water and let it drain in a sieve to eliminate excess moisture, ensuring it becomes fluffy.


Step 2: Chop the Vegetables


Thinly slice the onion lengthwise. Finely chop the green chilies and coriander leaves. You can dry roast the peanuts or lightly fry them in oil while preparing the Poha.


Step 3: Cook the Masala


In a pan, heat 2 teaspoons of mustard oil. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds, frying them until aromatic. Then, add the peanuts and fry lightly. Next, incorporate the onion and curry leaves, sautéing until the onions soften. Add the green chilies and turmeric, mixing well.


Step 4: Combine with Poha


Add the prepared Poha to the pan, seasoning with salt and sugar, and mix gently. Stir in the coriander leaves and lemon juice, then cover and cook on low heat for 2 minutes.
