Arsenal continue to be linked with several players despite being in the midst of a Premier League title race. Mikel Arteta’s men are competing on all four fronts this season, remaining in all competitions in March.

The Gunners hold a slim lead in the Premier League table over Manchester City, who they will also face in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium later this month. While Arteta will be keen to win that fixture and claim his first trophy since 2020, the two competitions Arsenal really want to win are the Premier League and the Champions League.

The north Londoners finished top of the latter’s league phase and ended up on the favourable half of the last-16 draw, as they prepare to play Bayer Leverkusen next week. But Gunners bosses still have one eye on the summer transfer market as they look to land top talent, with Mirror Football now bringing you the latest news.

Ray Parlour believes Myles Lewis-Skelly will be disappointed with his lesser role this season. The 19-year-old midfielder enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in the second half of last season, being deployed as a makeshift left-back due to other injuries.

He played in crucial games such as the wins over Real Madrid and even earned his first England cap last year. However, he has played just 312 minutes in the Premier League this season, having become the third-choice left-back. And Arsenal legend Parlour has now given him advice on breaking into the team again.

Speaking to The Metro, Parlour said: "Ethan Nwaneri may understand things as he got his loan move to Marseille but Lewis-Skelly will be disappointed. A lot has happened in his career very quickly. He got into the Arsenal team, played for England and scored for England all at a very young age and suddenly he’s been left out.

"I don’t know what his attitude is like in training every day. As a youngster, you just have to get your head down. Sometimes you can get too big for your boots when it’s all going well for you. I’ve seen it happen quite a few times with players. When you get left out you have to make sure you work hard in training and show the manager what you are about.

"I’m on the outside looking in, I don’t know what they do in training or what the attitudes with players who are left is like. But what I would say is when you are left out, you are still in the manager’s plans but you have to work that bit harder. Make sure the manager sees you and that you are ready to do anything to get into that side."

Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta has denied Arsenal’s interest in Pio Esposito. The striker, 20, has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Inter, having re-joined his boyhood club after two seasons on loan with Serie B side Spezia.

He has notched 13 goal involvements this season and enjoyed an eye-catching cameo against the Gunners in the Champions League league phase in January. That impressive display reportedly caught Arteta’s attention, with La Gazzetta dello Sport claiming sporting director Andrea Berta quickly contacted Inter after the game to explore a potential deal for the player.

Inter were said to have immediately shut down the approach, though Arsenal’s interest has now been denied by the Inter chief. Marotta said earlier this week: "Arsenal haven’t asked us about him. Inter do not want to sell him and we are not a club that makes player trading its main business.

"He’s a product that grew up in the youth academy and we’re guarding him like a treasure. We’ll talk about his transfer again in the future but it’ll be a very distant future."

The Gunners are looking to strengthen their midfield in the summer. One player they reportedly have their eye on is 16-year-old Hertha Berlin prodigy Kennet Eichhorn.

That’s according to CFBayern, who claim Arsenal see the teenager as a long-term candidate in midfield. The Gunners’ midfield pivot this season has mainly consisted of Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi, with Christian Norgaard not able to displace either of the pair.

Eichhorn has made 15 appearances this season for the German second-tier side. Arsenal are expected to face competition from Manchester United and Bayern Munich if they decide to pursue a transfer.
