Arsenal are being linked with several players despite being in the midst of a Premier League title battle. Mikel Arteta's side are fighting on all four fronts this campaign, remaining in all competitions in March.

The Gunners have a narrow lead at the Premier League summit over Manchester City, whom they will also meet in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium later this month. While Arteta will be eager to prevail in that encounter and lift his first silverware since 2020, the two trophies Arsenal truly want are the Premier League and the Champions League.

The north London club topped the latter's league phase and benefited from a favourable last-16 draw, as they prepare to face Bayer Leverkusen next week. Ray Parlour thinks Myles Lewis-Skelly will be frustrated with his reduced involvement this season. The 19-year-old midfielder enjoyed a breakthrough in the second half of last season, being deployed as a makeshift left-back due to other injuries.

The youngster featured in crucial matches, including victories against Real Madrid, and secured his first England call-up last year. Yet, he has managed just 312 minutes of Premier League action this campaign, having slipped to third choice at left-back. And Arsenal hero Parlour has now offered guidance on how he can force his way back into contention.

Speaking toThe Metro, Parlour said: "Ethan Nwaneri may understand things as he got his loan move to Marseille but Lewis-Skelly will be disappointed. A lot has happened in his career very quickly. He got into the Arsenal team, played for England and scored for England all at a very young age and suddenly he’s been left out.

"I don’t know what his attitude is like in training every day. As a youngster, you just have to get your head down. Sometimes you can get too big for your boots when it’s all going well for you. I’ve seen it happen quite a few times with players. When you get left out you have to make sure you work hard in training and show the manager what you are about.

"I’m on the outside looking in, I don’t know what they do in training or what the attitudes with players who are left is like. But what I would say is when you are left out, you are still in the manager’s plans but you have to work that bit harder. Make sure the manager sees you and that you are ready to do anything to get into that side."

Inter Milan's president, Beppe Marotta, has dismissed rumours of Arsenal's interest in Pio Esposito. The 20-year-old forward has had a standout season at Inter, having returned to his boyhood club following two seasons on loan with Serie B team Spezia.

He has contributed to 13 goals this season and enjoyed an eye-catching cameo against the Gunners in the Champions League league phase in January. His stellar performance reportedly piqued Arteta's interest, with La Gazzetta dello Sport claiming sporting director Andrea Berta swiftly reached out to Inter post-match to discuss a potential transfer for the player.

Inter were said to have immediately shut down the approach, though Arsenal’s interest has now been denied by the Inter chief. Marotta said earlier this week: "Arsenal haven’t asked us about him. Inter do not want to sell him and we are not a club that makes player trading its main business.

"He’s a product that grew up in the youth academy and we’re guarding him like a treasure. We’ll talk about his transfer again in the future but it’ll be a very distant future."

The Gunners are planning to bolster their midfield in the summer. One player they are reportedly keen on is 16-year-old Hertha Berlin sensation Kennet Eichhorn.

According to CFBayern, Arsenal view the teenager as a potential long-term option in the centre of midfield. That is no surprise given he has been hailed as the 'next Toni Kroos' in some quarters. Even Germany and Real Madrid legend Kroos’ own brother, Felix, identified similarities in Eichhorn and Kroos’ game.

"The way Eichhorn plays is remarkable,” he said. “He radiates calm, gains valuable experience and is allowed to make mistakes [at Hertha]. He has the quality, yet he will sometimes sit out. You have to give such a young player a break because it's a lot for the mind."

The Gunners' central midfield pairing this campaign has predominantly featured Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi, with Christian Norgaard unable to displace either player from the starting lineup.

Eichhorn has featured 15 times this season for the German second division outfit. Should Arsenal decide to pursue a move, they are likely to encounter competition from Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
