Govinda Addresses Criticism of His Recent Performances

Bollywood icon Govinda has recently addressed the buzz surrounding his participation in smaller events, following the viral videos of him dancing. Once a dominant figure in the film industry known for his comedic flair and dance moves, Govinda has been spotted at various events rather than on movie sets. This shift has led some social media users to label these appearances as “small shows,” suggesting a decline in his career. In response, Govinda emphasized that he has never allowed his ego to dictate his decisions.

Govinda Discusses His Participation in Smaller Events

Recently, Govinda was seen at a school function in Pratapgarh, where he donned a fashionable black-and-white ensemble. The crowd welcomed him with enthusiasm, prompting him to perform an impromptu dance to his classic song Main Toh Raste Se Jaa Raha Tha. He also entertained the audience with a rendition of Angna Mein Baba and shared some of his famous dialogues.

However, clips from this event quickly made their way online, leading some users to question why the veteran actor was performing at what they deemed “small” gatherings. Addressing this narrative, Govinda told Siddharth Kannan, “Those who are calling it small are from a CM's event. The second one is a Member of Parliament. They are calling it small.” He pointed out that social media is often misused, with headlines being circulated without proper verification.

Govinda Clarifies Comments on His Mode of Transport

He also responded to remarks regarding his travel in a 'small car' in Agra, clarifying that it was merely a matter of protocol. “That’s all that is allowed. Your Mercedes has to stay outside because that’s the rule there,” he explained, dismissing any suggestions that he was downgrading his lifestyle. Most importantly, Govinda stated that he has never let pride interfere with his work. “I have never been caught up in ego,” he remarked. He recalled a moment when, while facing criticism about his vehicle, he was actually on a flight where fellow passengers surprised him by singing “Happy Birthday.”

The actor expressed gratitude for his accomplishments, stating, “I keep thanking the higher powers for all that we have received.” He reassured that there is no sadness or desperation behind his public appearances. “There’s nothing like that, my friend. The higher powers have given us so much. We are very happy.” Govinda concluded with a philosophical message, encouraging others to strive for success without crossing ethical boundaries. “Those who are moving ahead, no matter how, should continue to do so… Just don’t cross limits. But reach the top; it will feel good.”

It appears that Govinda remains content with his career path and wishes well for others while keeping his ego in check.
