There are indications of a big change in the politics of Bihar. Nearly four months after assuming office as Chief Minister for a record tenth time, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is going to file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections on Thursday. It is believed that this step can create a new situation in the politics of the state and can strengthen the possibility of forming a government under the leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party for the first time.

Nitish Kumar will file nomination at 11:30 am

According to the information received, Nitish Kumar will reach Bihar Assembly at around 11:30 am and file his nomination. Along with him, Janata Dal (United) leader Ramnath Thakur will also file nomination as party candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections. This development has come to light at a time when Nitish Kumar has recently celebrated his 75th birthday on March 1 and political discussions are intense regarding his future.

According to sources, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also likely to be present in Patna during this period. It is being told that after the nomination process, there can be a meeting between Shah, Nitish Kumar and other NDA leaders. In this meeting, it is expected that the formation of a new government in Bihar and possible political equations will be discussed.

There are also speculations in political circles that if Nitish Kumar goes to Rajya Sabha and leaves the post of Chief Minister, then the largest party in the Assembly, BJP, can stake claim to form the government. At present BJP has 89 MLAs. There is a possibility that BJP may take over the post of Chief Minister, while JDU may get the post of Deputy Chief Minister.

Possibility of nomination of Nitin Nabin

Meanwhile, leaders of other parties are also preparing to file nominations for the Rajya Sabha elections. There is a possibility of nomination of BJP state president Nitin Nabin and leader Shivesh Kumar. At the same time, RLM President Upendra Kushwaha can also contest the elections.

Senior JDU leader and minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary has confirmed that discussions are going on within the party regarding Nitish Kumar going to Rajya Sabha. He said that whatever decision will be taken, it will be taken only with the consent of the Chief Minister and he will also take the final decision.

However, there have also been reports of dissatisfaction among some party leaders and supporters regarding this possible decision. On this issue, a meeting of JDU leaders was held at the residence of the party’s National Working President Sanjay Jha, in which various aspects were discussed.

Meanwhile, along with political turmoil, there is an atmosphere of discussion inside the Chief Minister’s residence also. According to sources, his son Nishant Kumar is said to be upset with these speculations. However, he himself does not aspire to any political position.

What do party sources say?

Party sources say that if everything goes as per plan, Nitish Kumar can remain on the post of Chief Minister till March 16 and after that the way for the new political system can be cleared. In such a situation, the politics of Bihar may go through a phase of major change in the coming days.
