A new controversy has arisen amid the ongoing military conflict between Iran, America and Israel. Former US Army Colonel Douglas McGregor claimed in an interview that the US Navy is using Indian ports to attack Iran. He said that after the damage to American naval bases, America has to depend on alternative bases. Now the Indian government has completely rejected this claim.

Indian External Affairs Ministry’s response

The Ministry of External Affairs of India immediately responded to this matter and clarified that this claim is completely baseless and misleading. The fact check unit of the ministry posted on social media platform X that India is not involved with any side in this conflict, nor is its land or ports being used for any military action. The government appealed to the people not to believe such unconfirmed and misleading news.

After McGregor’s statement, this issue spread rapidly on social media and discussions started in many places about India’s possible role. However, Indian officials made it clear in no uncertain terms that the country’s policy is to maintain distance from this conflict.

Türkiye’s claim

On the other hand, the situation on the battlefield is continuously worsening. According to reports, so far more than a thousand people have died in Iran, while more than 70 people are reported to have died in Lebanon and about a dozen in Israel. Iran has launched missile attacks in the direction of Bahrain, Kuwait and Israel. At the same time, Turkey claimed that an Iranian ballistic missile was stopped by NATO’s defense system before it could enter its airspace.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump praised the performance of the US Army and said that the military action is progressing as per plan. Republican leaders in the US Senate have also rejected the proposal to stop the war.

The impact of this conflict is becoming visible at the global level as well. Shipping and energy supplies in the Middle East have been affected, disrupting the supply of oil and gas. Apart from this, lakhs of passengers are stranded in different countries due to flights being affected at many airports in the region.
