New Delhi: Amid the escalation of tensions in the Middle East, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday. During their conversation, both leaders discussed shared concerns of India and France over the evolving situation in the region.
During their discussion, both leaders called for a return to dialogue and diplomacy. They also decided to continue to engage closely and coordinate on efforts towards early restoration of peace and stability in the Middle East.

“Spoke with my friend President Emmanuel Macron today. We discussed our shared concerns over the evolving situation in West Asia and the need for a return to dialogue and diplomacy. We will continue to engage closely and coordinate efforts towards the early restoration of peace and stability in the region,” PM Modi wrote on X.
PM Modi has interacted with several world leaders since the beginning of tensions last Saturday after the US and Israel conducted a joint operation on Iran, leading to the killing of the country’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, and several other top leaders and military officers of Iran.
“Spoke with my brother, H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar. We stand firmly in solidarity with Qatar and strongly condemn any violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. We emphasized the urgent need to restore peace and stability in the region through dialogue and diplomacy. I also conveyed my appreciation for his continued support and care for the Indian community in Qatar during this challenging time,” the PM wrote after speaking to Amir of Qatar on Tuesday.
