The first Infinity Castle movie made an impressive debut last year
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle is set to return to Indian theatres on March 6, 2026.

Distributed by Crunchyroll in association with Sony Pictures Entertainment, the anime feature will be screened exclusively in cinemas in Japanese with English subtitles. The re-release comes after the film’s initial theatrical run on September 12, 2025, during which it achieved significant box office success both globally and in India.

The film will also be presented in the SCREENX format for the first time, offering a 270-degree multi-projection viewing experience designed to enhance the immersive quality of its action sequences.

Infinity Castle is the first installment in a planned three-part cinematic trilogy that adapts the concluding arc of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba series, depicting the franchise’s final battle storyline. Upon its release last year, the film received strong responses from both critics and audiences.

It went on to become the seventh highest-grossing film worldwide in 2025 and also emerged as the highest-grossing anime film of all time globally. In North America, it broke the 25-year-old record of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon as the highest-grossing international film in that region. In India, it also became the highest-grossing anime title ever released.

Beyond its commercial success, the film received notable awards recognition. It earned a nomination at the Golden Globe Awards for Best Animated Feature Film and received a nomination from the Producers Guild of America for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures. It was also longlisted for Best Animated Film at the BAFTA Awards.

The upcoming theatrical run will once again feature the film in its original Japanese language with English subtitles, allowing fans to experience the story in its authentic format.

However, the makers have not yet announced any OTT release for the film. This means that fans who want to watch it again will have to return to theatres.

The Infinity Castle trilogy represents the final arc of the series, and audiences are eager to see how the story unfolds on the big screen. Studio Ufotable’s work on the first part has already set a high benchmark, with visually striking animation and emotionally intense battles making it one of the standout anime films in recent years. The new theatrical presentation is expected to give fans another chance to experience those moments in a more immersive way.
