Prince William is said to have built a close bond with his aunt Princess Anne over the years, with the 75-year-old described as a "great solace" to her nephew. William joined his aunts, Anne and Duchess Sophie, for a joint surprise engagement in Wales on Wednesday.

Alongside Anne and Sophie, the Prince of Wales headed to Brecon, Wales, to attend a memorial service for former lady-in-waiting Dame Shân Legge-Bourke. Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, body language expert Darren Stanton discussed the bond between William and Anne.

He said: "The dynamic between the pair is fantastic... William has a fantastic relationship with Anne and all the immediate Royal Family.

"You can see he has no issues with her at all and they seem to get along very well. What you see is what you get."

He then added that Anne has secretly helped her nephew's confidence - adding how William "used to be quite introverted"

Mr Stanton added: "Anne is a great solace to William.

"He's become very confident and evolved in his communication skills as he used to be quite introverted".
