A female sanitation worker of the city municipal corporation has lodged a complaint at the city women’s police station, alleging sexual harassment by a sanitation supervisor.
According to the complainant, a few months ago, she had requested leave from the supervisor due to health reasons, but her request was denied. When she followed up for leave approval, she was instructed to report to the office on Sunday. On July 22, 2025, at around 10:30 a.m., when she went to the office as instructed, she alleges that the supervisor harassed her sexually and demanded Rs 1,000.
The complainant further alleged that even after this incident, the supervisor repeatedly harassed her over the phone, behaved inappropriately while she was at work, and verbally abused her in front of other staff. She also claimed that she was threatened with termination if she took leave.
Based on her complaint, the women’s police station has registered a case and initiated investigation.
