Washington, February 6. There is a lot of chaos in the Middle East these days. Meanwhile, America’s mood has changed regarding buying oil from Russia. America has been putting pressure on India for a long time to stop purchasing oil from Russia. However, now the same America has given India 30 more days to buy oil from Russia. US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant said on the social media platform X, “Due to President Trump’s energy agenda, oil and gas production has reached its highest level ever.

To keep the flow of oil in the world market, the Finance Department is giving a temporary relaxation of 30 days to allow Indian refiners to buy Russian oil. “This deliberate short-term approach will not provide any significant financial benefit to the Russian government because it only allows transactions that involve oil already stranded at sea.” He further said, “India is an important partner of America and we fully expect that New Delhi will increase the purchase of American oil. “This temporary step will reduce the pressure created by Iran’s attempt to hold global energy hostage.”

Let us tell you, about 50 percent of India’s crude oil comes through the Strait of Hormuz. The attacks that have been going on against Iran for the last six days are also going to impact the Strait of Hormuz. India has always kept only one thing in front of the world, that whatever is in its interest, only that decision will be taken. India will not take decisions under anyone’s pressure. This is the reason that when the US and NATO countries imposed sanctions on Russia during the Ukraine war, India, considering its own interest, purchased crude oil from Russia at low prices.

The latest situation is such that India has already purchased a huge amount of oil, and many tankers are currently at sea. Since India is one of the largest exporters of oil in the world, if these consignments of oil tankers are stopped, it will have an impact on the global market. There will be instability in the global oil market, after which inflation is expected to increase. If India is affected due to oil purchase, it can have a deep impact on the global economy. In such a situation, America has given this exemption to India so that there is stability in the global oil market.
