News India Live, Digital Desk: The disciples of Jayaprakash Narayan (JP) have dominated the politics of Bihar for the last several decades. Be it Lalu Prasad Yadav or Nitish Kumar, these leaders have revolved the axis of power in Bihar around themselves. But now news is coming that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar may move to Delhi to play a bigger role in national politics. If this happens, it will be the closing of a special chapter of ‘socialism’ in Bihar which is considered to be the product of ‘JP movement’.
Race to Delhi and throne of Bihar: What is the master plan?
There is discussion in political circles that Nitish Kumar can be given some big responsibility at the Centre. The strategy behind this is said to be to further strengthen the coordination between BJP and JDU. Nitish Kumar’s move to Delhi is not just a transfer of a leader, but a deliberate attempt to develop new centers of power in Bihar.
Clearing the way for the new generation?
If Nitish Kumar moves away from active politics of Bihar and moves to Delhi, a huge leadership void will be created in the state. Many young faces are in line to fill it. This could be a golden opportunity not only for JDU but also for BJP to create its new base in Bihar. Experts believe that with this the politics of Bihar can move away from the old era of ‘Mandal-Kamandal’ and move towards ‘development and new vision’.
Last round of JP’s disciples
Due to health reasons, Lalu Yadav is not seen in active politics like before, and now the news of Nitish Kumar going to Delhi has made it clear that the era of leaders emerging from the 1974 student movement is now at its last stage. The people of Bihar are now looking for new leadership and new thinking.
