Loose Women will be absent from its usual slot on ITV next week as the panel confirmed the long-running show will be taking a break.

During Friday's show (March 6), Jayne Moore interjected their discussion towards the end of the show to wipe her eyes due to hayfever.

Confirming that she wasn't getting emotional, Loose Women star Kaye Adams commented: "I thought you were getting a bit tearful! There is a reason to get tearful, it's your last Loose Women for a few weeks.

"We will be back next month. Until then, take care, have a fabulous weekend and Easter, and we'll see you very soon!"

Usually, the daytime show airs weekdays from 12:30pm until 1:30pm; however, next week, coverage of the Cheltenham Festival will be on in its place.

Loose Women isn't the only show having a shake-up to its schedule, as Lorraine will also be off air for a while.

At the end of the show on Friday (March 6), Christine Lampard announced the programme will be taking a pause.

She commented: "That's all for today here, Lorraine will be back in a few weeks' time. Have a lovely weekend. See you soon."

This comes after Lorraine was absence from her show for the latest two episodes due to losing her voice.

Last year the broadcaster announced major changes for ITV Daytime which saw 200 jobs being cut. Lorraine will now air for 30 weeks of the year, a change that will also affect Loose Women.

As Lorraine isn't on, Good Morning Britain will be extended for an extra 30 minutes, finishing at 10am. It is not known what will replace Loose Women following the week's coverage of the Cheltenham Festival.

Speaking about the changes, boss Kevin Lygo explained: "Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well as generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.

"These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever."

Loose Women is available to watch on ITVX.
