Jacob Gallagher has experienced a turbulent love life on Emmerdale, and in real life actor Joe Warren-Plant has endured his own share of romantic setbacks.

Actor Joe-Warren joined the ITV soap as Jacob in 2010 - and has since been at the centre of numerous major storylines. From grooming to losing his mum Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) in last year's limo crash, his time in the Dales has been packed with drama.

Particularly now, as a disturbing new storyline has recently begun involving trainee doctor Jacob and his superior Doctor Todd (Caroline Harker), with the plot examining workplace bullying and power dynamics.

Jacob's also experienced plenty of romantic entanglements on the soap, including his current wife Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill).

Off-screen however, Jacob actor Joe-Warren Plant has led a personal love life that's nearly as dramatic as his character's television relationships. Here, we're delving into Joe-Warren Plant's turbulent romantic history, reports the Mirror.

Joe-Warren was in a relationship with model Nicole Hadlow from 2017 until 2021. The couple were cohabiting when Joe-Warren chose to leave their shared home whilst beginning training for Dancing on Ice.

Reports at the time suggested that the demanding schedule and pressures of training placed strain on their relationship, ultimately leading to their separation. Discussing the breakup at the time, Joe told The Sun: "Dancing on Ice has come at a good time for me physically and mentally.

"Relationships are hard to kind of deal with. It has helped to take my mind off of it slightly, having to focus and train all day every day. Even when you're not training and you're at home you've got to take the recovery aspect into terms.

"It's helped taking my mind off it, but things are still tough to be fair."

Joe-Warren found himself at the centre of romance rumours with his Dancing on Ice partner and co-star Vanessa Bauer - a claim he refuted.

"With a show like Dancing On Ice it's about telling a story to engage with the audience and the judges," he explained.

"So you have to have a certain level of chemistry between you and your partner, so I think everyone has seen we are getting on so well and assumed there is something going on.

"But there isn't, we are just dedicated to the show, we are trying to do the best we possibly can."

After parting ways with Nicole, Joe-Warren made his relationship with new model girlfriend Anna Norton public on Instagram in 2022. The couple reportedly purchased a property in Blackpool in 2022 and they shared a cat together.

However, their relationship hit a rocky patch in 2024 and the pair ended things after two years.

A source told The Sun: "Joe and Anna are over, it's very sad but they are still very young. It hasn't been the amicable split they were hoping for and they aren't speaking now at all."

Just months following his separation from Anna, Joe-Warren made his relationship with new girlfriend Isabella public in January 2025.

The actor re-posted an image of himself and Isabella which she had originally shared on her own Instagram account. In the photograph, the loved-up pair captured a mirror selfie together.

Their relationship continuing to flourish, Joe-Warren and Isabella have since enjoyed multiple sun-drenched getaways together. Last year, they travelled to Barcelona and chronicled their journey with numerous romantic photographs.
