Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan has voiced a heartfelt appeal for peace as tensions sharply escalate between Israel and Iran, expressing concern for civilians affected by the conflict.

Taking to Instagram Stories, the actress shared a brief but emotional message: “There is no alternative to peace. My thoughts and prayers are with the children, the innocent civilians. May tomorrow bring quieter skies and healing.”

Explosions in Tehran

Her statement comes after reports of massive explosions in Tehran on February 28, following what Israel described as “preventive” missile strikes targeting Iran. Several missiles reportedly struck areas near University Street and in the Jomhouri district of the Iranian capital.

The strikes have intensified already heightened tensions in the Middle East, amid strained relations involving the United States and Iran over a potential nuclear agreement.

Wider regional escalation

Over 2024 and 2025, the long-standing shadow conflict between Israel and Iran escalated into direct military confrontations, including aerial strikes and missile exchanges.

Earlier on Monday, Israeli warplanes reportedly carried out airstrikes in Beirut’s southern suburbs, targeting Dahieh, a stronghold of Hezbollah, after rockets were launched toward Israel from Lebanese territory. Ambulances were seen evacuating casualties, though no official toll was immediately released.

Hezbollah said it had launched rockets and drones in retaliation for the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader in joint Israeli-US strikes.

A plea beyond politics

Soha’s message highlights growing concern over the humanitarian impact of escalating hostilities. As military exchanges intensify, civilians — particularly children — remain among the most vulnerable.

Her appeal for “quieter skies and healing” reflects a broader call for restraint and dialogue as the region faces an uncertain and volatile period.
