Operations at Dubai International Airport (DXB) have been suspended for an indefinite period as authorities implement precautionary safety measures amid escalating security tensions in the Middle East.
According to updates from Dubai Airports and the Dubai Media Officethe suspension has been put in place to ensure the safety of passengers, airport staff, airline crews and operational teams while the situation in the region continues to evolve.
The disruption is linked to heightened military activity and security concerns across the Gulf region, which have already led to airspace restrictions and several operational adjustments at major aviation hubs.
Authorities have previously warned that developments tied to the broader regional conflict could temporarily impact aviation routes and airport operations. DXB had already experienced earlier interruptions, with full or partial suspensions announced in recent weeks before limited operations gradually resumed.
Airlines including Emirates had been operating a reduced flight schedule, but the latest announcement confirms that airport operations have again been halted as a precaution.
Passengers are being advised not to travel to the airport unless their airline directly confirms that their flight is operating. Airlines are expected to provide updates regarding rescheduled departures, cancellations and travel arrangements once authorities issue further guidance.
Dubai International Airport is one of the world’s busiest international travel hubs, and any prolonged closure could affect thousands of passengers and global flight schedules.
