Andrew Mountbatten Windsor made his feelings abundantly clear on the allegations against him during one meeting while he was on official duties at a golf tournament in 2019. The former prince has faced an influx of scrutiny in recent years over his links to Jeffrey Epstein and, more recently, his arrest relating to alleged misconduct in public office. However, he has continuously maintained that he hasn't done anything wrong. In Channel 5's show, Lipreading the Royals, professionals detailed what truly went on between various royals, including the moment Andrew "begged Prince William for forgiveness".
One instance they reflected on was Andrew's meeting with top lawyer and reputation manager Paul Tweed, which was reported to be a meeting as friends rather than Tweed being an advisor. Various presenters appeared on the show to talk about the meeting, with Cristo Foufas kicking it off by announcing that Andrew's "reputation was in shatters" at the time of the meeting.
He explained: "I think it really just goes to show that he still wanted to hold onto that," before stating that until now, nobody knew what had occurred in that meeting, but after analysis from lip readers, it has been unveiled.
Lip reader Nicola Hinckley added: "At this point, I can see that Andrew is becoming increasingly emphatic. He wants answers now. I believe he then says there has to be a way around this. Andrew goes on to say, 'how would I get from here to my house?' He finishes off by saying, 'all of this is not true, absolutely not true, it didn't happen'."
Body language expert Adrienne Carter then also joined in with her own analysis as she said: "He looks quite intent on what he's got to say," but questioned if he was playing for the cameras.
She noted that his body language looked "very exaggerated", adding: "It is a really large movement, making sure perhaps whoever is watching captures that on film."
Cristo then adds once more that he believes they're "hatching a plan", but noted there was an obstacle due to the questioning of "how would I get from there to my house?" He added: "He's clearly worried that whatever plan they're hatching cannot be known by anyone, which is why the lip readers revealing this is so explosive."
Since the meeting, Andrew has faced further controversy, which resulted in him having his title stripped by the King in October, including his birthright to be known as a prince. Prince Andrew has always denied any allegations against him.
