Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta traveled in a DTC bus to review the functioning of the ‘Saheli Pink NCMC Card’ system, a digital travel facility introduced for women passengers in the city’s public transport network.

During the journey, the Chief Minister observed how the card-based system works inside buses. Passengers using the card can simply tap it on the machine installed in the bus, allowing the journey to be recorded instantly through a digital system. The initiative is designed to make the travel process faster and more convenient for passengers. The Saheli Pink NCMC Card is linked to the free bus travel facility for women in the city. Officials said the card enables a tap-based system that records journeys digitally while simplifying the boarding process for passengers.

The service is being implemented in buses operated by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). Authorities stated that the card is being issued at several centers across Delhi, where women can register using their Aadhaar number and a mobile number to receive the card.nAccording to officials, digital ticketing and smart card systems are increasingly being introduced in urban transport networks to streamline passenger services and improve operational efficiency.

The NCMC-based system is part of broader efforts to modernize public transport and enhance convenience for daily commuters. Thousands of passengers rely on bus services in Delhi every day, making it important to adopt systems that simplify travel procedures. Initiatives like the Saheli Pink NCMC Card aim to improve accessibility and provide a smoother experience for women commuters across the capital.
