Attempting a retaliatory throw, Arshdeep hit Mitchell on the thigh, leaving the New Zealand batter visibly furious.
Animated gestures and aggressive walking marked Mitchell’s response, but the situation was quickly diffused by Surya, who stepped in with a calming hand on Mitchell’s shoulder, while the umpires discussed with Arshdeep. The two later shook hands, signaling the end of the altercation and moving on with the game.
