Lucknow (Mohanlalganj). A soul-shattering incident came to light on Monday evening in Sisendi town under Mohanlalganj police station of the capital. Just a few steps away from Sisendi police post, fearless criminals entered the house and brutally murdered a widowed woman and her disabled son. The brutality of the attackers was such that the woman’s body was found naked, while the body of her only disabled son was found drowned in a tub filled with water. There is an atmosphere of sensation and panic in the entire area due to this double murder.
‘Someone kicked the door…’ and the phone got disconnected
This heart-wrenching incident came to light through a phone call. According to the information, Reshma Bano (45) lived in the house with her disabled son Shadab (18). On Monday evening, Shadab was talking to his brother-in-law on the phone. During the conversation he told that mother had gone out to buy spices. Then suddenly Shadab said in panic – “Someone is kicking the door.” As soon as he said this the call got disconnected. When the brother-in-law sent a message to the neighbor fearing something untoward, everyone was shocked to see the scene inside.

Barbarity crossed limits: Mother’s dead body found under the cot
As soon as the neighbors and relatives entered the house, there was an outcry. Reshma Bano’s body was lying naked under the cot in the room, which points towards some serious cruelty that happened to her. Meanwhile, the body of disabled Shadab, who could not walk on his own, was found in a big tub filled with water in the bathroom. The attackers did not even give the mother and son a chance to recover and fled after committing the crime.
Lost her husband to Covid, now the whole family is lost
Family members told that Reshma’s husband Iqbal had died during the Covid period. Since then mother and son were living with each other. There was no other male member in the house, taking advantage of which this heinous crime was carried out. As soon as the information was received, the forensic team along with ACP Mohanlalganj and heavy police force reached the spot. The team has collected fingerprints and other scientific evidence from the spot.
Incident takes place a few steps away from police post, questions on security
This double murder, which took place so close to Sisendi outpost, has raised big questions on the promptness of the police. There is deep anger among the local people against the police. Police officials say that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and many suspects are being detained and interrogated. All aspects like robbery, mutual rivalry or attempted rape are being investigated closely.
