Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters, crowned the best coffee shop in the world in 2025, was pushed to the fifth position this year in a global ranking compiled by The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops.

Onyx Coffee LAB in the U.S. claimed the top spot this year, followed by Tim Wendelboe in Norway and Alquimia Coffee in El Salvador.

Headquartered in Rogers, Arkansas, Onyx Coffee LAB features an open-concept, interactive space that includes a roastery, café, bakery, and even a cocktail/mezcal bar.

Renowned for its dedication to specialty coffee, technological innovation, and sustainability, it climbed from second place in 2025 to claim the top position, reflecting both the quality of its products and initiatives such as solar-powered roasting.

The company currently operates eight retail cafes in Northwest Arkansas with locations throughout Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers, and Springdale.

Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters, which has its flagship cafe in Sydney, is famous for its commitment to high-quality beans, and expert barista training. Their locations often feature island brew bars, allowing customers to interact with baristas and watch the brewing process, breaking down barriers between barista and customer.

The ranking, based on public votes and expert evaluations, aims to identify the world’s best coffee shops by assessing the quality of coffee, food and pastries, barista skills, customer service, innovation, ambiance, and consistency, according to its official website.
