Got the job on the advice of Rohit Sharma, now will he be thrown out even after winning the T20 World Cup?

Indian Cricket Team: T20 World Cup 2026 was very memorable for Team India. The Indian team won the title in a one-sided manner. This strong performance of the team is being praised all over the world. BCCI has also announced a reward of Rs 131 crore to its players. But there is one person in the team whose future can be taken a big decision in the coming days. This person has been associated with the team since the year 2021.

Will this legend be out even after winning the World Cup?

In fact, even after Team India won the title, drop catches and fielding mistakes in many matches have created discussion. The Indian team was the team that dropped the most catches in this tournament. In such a situation, BCCI can take a big decision on the future of fielding coach T Dilip. The biggest reason for this is that T Dileep's contract is going to end in June 2026. Now the big question is whether BCCI will give him another chance or bring a new face?

Got the job on Rohit's request

Let us tell you, Dilip is associated with Team India since 2021. He started his work during the coaching tenure of Rahul Dravid. His tenure ended after the T20 World Cup 2024. After this his contract was extended till March 2025. But after the team's poor performance on the Australia tour, he was dropped midway. According to reports, after this Rohit Sharma himself requested head coach Gautam Gambhir and BCCI to keep him back. Due to Rohit's intervention, Dilip got an extension of one year and he joined the team for the England tour. He was also present as a fielding coach in the T20 World Cup. But whether he will be a part of the team in future or not, it is now in the hands of BCCI.

Will BCCI keep foreign fielding coaches?

Let us tell you, the main reason for T Dilip's re-entry into the team last year was that BCCI could not find his replacement. According to reports, BCCI was looking for a foreign fielding coach. But Dilip was called back after not finding a candidate. However, T Dilip has a lot of coaching experience. He worked as a coach with Hyderabad Cricket Association from 2007 to 2019. After this he did coaching in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and then got entry in Team India.
