On the occasion of International Women's Day, the state government in Chhattisgarh presented a significant gift to millions of women. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai released the 25th installment of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana during the Mahatari Vandan Sammelan 2026 held in Jagdalpur. Financial assistance was transferred to the bank accounts of over 6.9 million eligible married women in the state through direct benefit transfer. Under this government scheme, women receive ₹1,000 per month, totaling ₹12,000 per year. However, there are many women beneficiaries whose accounts have not yet received the installment. In such a situation, women are wondering why the money hasn't yet been credited to their accounts.

What is the Mahatari Vandan Yojana?

The Chhattisgarh government's Mahatari Vandan Yojana was launched with the aim of empowering women financially. Under this scheme, eligible married women are transferred ₹1,000 per month directly into their bank accounts. Recently, the Chief Minister released the 25th installment of the scheme through a single click. Previously, in February, an amount of ₹6,413.40 crore was transferred to beneficiaries' accounts as the 24th installment. According to the state government, a significant amount has been transferred to women's accounts under this scheme so far. According to data, the government has transferred a total of ₹1,62,373.30 crore to beneficiaries.

Why hasn't the money arrived in their accounts?

If the Mahatari Vandan Yojana funds haven't yet been credited to a beneficiary's account, there could be a few common reasons. According to the government, payments may be delayed due to incorrect bank account information or incomplete details, including the bank account number and mobile number. In some cases, installments may be delayed due to incomplete application conditions or documents, or due to incomplete KYC updates. Therefore, the government has advised beneficiaries to check their application status.
