Scholarships: If you, too, have been dreaming of studying abroad, there's great news for you. The Canadian government and its top universities have opened their doors to Indian students. A major agreement has been announced to promote education and research between India and Canada, directly benefiting thousands of Indian students.
Over 220 Students to Receive Scholarships
Under this new initiative, the University of Toronto has secured funding of approximately US$21 million (approximately Rs. 175-200 crore) to support Indian students. This substantial amount will be used to provide scholarships to over 220 Indian students to study in Canada. The good news is that these scholarships will not be limited to the University of Toronto; Indian students studying at various institutions across Canada will benefit from them.
300 New Research Positions
Extensive opportunities have opened up not only in academics but also in research. According to the plan, 300 funded research positions have been created for Indian student researchers. This means that promising Indian students will now be able to work on new technologies and innovations alongside Canadian scientists and professors.
Hybrid Study Centers to Open in India
The most interesting aspect of this project is that Canada is now opening three "Hybrid Study Centers" in India. These centers will work in collaboration with Indian institutions. Students will be able to begin their studies in India and later return to Canada to complete their courses. These centers will primarily focus on subjects like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and technology.
Student Exchange Programs to Ease
13 new partnerships have also been established between Canadian and Indian universities. This will make it easier for students to travel from one country to another to study and participate in research projects. Furthermore, there has been an agreement to expand collaboration in creative fields such as visual arts, music, publishing, and entertainment technology.
