A major airline briefly grounded its flight earlier today (March 10).

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grounded all JetBlue flights after a request that came from the airline itself.

JetBlue said this was due to "a brief system outage," and added that they have since "resumed operations". It is understood the ground stop lasted 40 minutes.

The Daily Express has contacted the FAA for comment. "JetBlue launched service in 2000 with the mission of bringing humanity back to air travel," a message on its website read.

The US airline has been in business for more than two decades later, and is the sixth largest airline in the country. It is based in New York and also operate from the city's John F. Kennedy International Airport.
