Guwahati, Mar 10: On March 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make his 39th trip to Assam, where he will digitally launch the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme from Guwahati.

A senior official from the Agriculture Ministry confirmed, “The Prime Minister will release the 22nd installment of PM-Kisan funds on March 13 from Guwahati.”

This financial assistance, amounting to approximately Rs 19,000 crore, is aimed at benefiting 9.32 crore farmers nationwide, helping them acquire vital agricultural supplies like seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, just before the kharif sowing season.

During his visit, Modi is anticipated to engage in various government programs focused on developmental projects in the state and will review ongoing infrastructure and welfare initiatives with local officials and representatives.

On March 14, Modi will head to Silchar in the Barak Valley, where he is set to lay the foundation stone for the Rs 22,000-crore high-speed expressway connecting Guwahati and Silchar.

Additionally, he will initiate the Silchar flyover project, which has been long awaited to alleviate traffic issues in the city.

Following the Prime Minister's two-day visit, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Guwahati on March 15 to address a significant youth conference organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

According to party sources, the event is expected to attract around one lakh young attendees from across Assam, including students, entrepreneurs, young professionals, and first-time voters.

The conference aims to engage the youth, promote their involvement in public affairs, and showcase the Centre’s development efforts and job opportunities in the region.

Senior leaders from the BJP, state ministers, and party officials are also expected to participate in this event as part of the party's outreach strategy in the Northeast.
