On Tuesday, Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed her views at a multi-specialty conference focused on women in the medical field. She emphasized the significant and inspiring role women have played in healthcare. The Chief Minister noted that women are contributing across all sectors of medicine, serving as doctors, surgeons, researchers, nurses, and health specialists. Their work extends beyond treating patients; it is crucial for building a healthy and secure society. She further highlighted that the sensitivity, compassion, and dedication women bring to the medical profession make it more humane.
This event, held at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, saw participation from senior doctors, medical experts, nursing staff, and a large number of female health professionals. Addressing the gathering, Gupta stated that the Delhi government prioritizes women's health and empowerment. The government is committed to ensuring that every woman receives quality healthcare through improved health services, awareness programs, and the expansion of medical facilities.
Gupta also criticized the government, claiming it operates under the influence of the United States. She remarked that if the U.S. suggests taking oil, they comply, and if it advises against sourcing oil from a particular location, they follow that too. She attributed the current insecurity in the country entirely to the BJP's governance. Previously, on March 5, Rahul Gandhi had warned of turbulent times ahead, citing threats to India's oil supply. He stated that the Prime Minister's silence during such crises demonstrates how a compromising leader has relinquished India's strategic autonomy.
Gandhi posted on X, indicating that the world has entered a period of instability, with challenging circumstances ahead. He pointed out that over 40% of India's oil imports pass through the Strait of Hormuz, putting the supply at risk. The situation for LPG and LNG is even more dire, with conflicts reaching our neighborhood, including the sinking of an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean. Yet, the Prime Minister has remained silent. The Petroleum Ministry has stated that implementing the act has established a clear priority list for natural gas distribution, which will help manage current supply-related challenges.
