OPPO leases space in Greater Noida for ₹1cr per month

Chinese smartphone brand OPPO has leased a massive 4,30,400 square feet of space in Greater Noida's Ecotech area.

The electronics manufacturer Bhagwati Products Ltd will occupy the space at a starting monthly rent of ₹1.04 crore.

The lease agreement, as per property registration documents accessed by Propstack, is valid for 58 months starting from January 1, 2026 with a 5% escalation after 24 months.

Bhagwati Products is the electronics manufacturing services (EMS) arm of Indian smartphone and electronics company Micromax.

The company makes phones for OPPO and has a joint venture with Chinese electronics firm Huaqin.

This partnership relates to OPPO's position in the Indian market.


OPPO's move to localize smartphone manufacturing in India

In 2025, Moneycontrol reported that OPPO was negotiating with several EMS firms for localizing smartphone manufacturing in India.

Bhagwati Products-Huaqin joint venture was among those it outsourced production to.

The company was also in talks with Tata Group's Tata Electronics, another EMS provider that manufactures Apple's iPhones in India.

These moves are part of OPPO's broader strategy to strengthen its manufacturing base in India amid government pressure to localize production.

The trend of localizing manufacturing isn't just limited to OPPO. Other Chinese companies with a strong presence in India, like Vivo, have also joined the bandwagon. Vivo has formed a joint venture with Dixon Technologies to boost local manufacturing.
