Gaganjeet Bhullar, who launched the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) with a thrilling victory in 2025, is set to return to the Chandigarh Golf Club to commence the new 2026 season. According to an announcement, Bhullar will lead the field at the IGPL Invitational 2026 in Chandigarh.

As the most accomplished player in Asian Tour history with 11 victories, Bhullar ranks third on the all-time Asian list. He will be joined by notable players such as Pukhraj Singh Gill, the 2025 IGPL Order of Merit champion, Asian Tour standout Karandeep Kochhar, also a 2025 IGPL winner, and Aman Raj, who narrowly missed the Order of Merit title.

The competition in 2025 was incredibly tight, with the top three players—Pukhraj (Rs 81,90,652), Aman Raj (Rs 81,81,708), and Bhullar (Rs 81,30,000)—separated by just over Rs 60,000. A total of 58 players, including nine amateurs, will compete in the main event from March 11-13, with no cuts. The Pro-Am event is scheduled for March 14.

This Rs 1.5 Crore tournament will also feature renowned players like Varun Parikh, a multiple winner; Indian-American Manav Shah, who has triumphed on the PGA Tour of Latinoamerica; and Varun Chopra.

Building on a Successful Inaugural Season

"We are thrilled to kick off Season 2 of IGPL. The inaugural season was a tremendous success, and our plans are progressing well," stated Uttam Singh Mundy, CEO of IGPL and a former professional golfer with numerous wins in India.

"Starting our 2026 season in Chandigarh feels fitting, as this is where IGPL began its journey last year. Chandigarh is a nurturing ground for Indian golf, producing many stars," he added.

Mundy emphasized that IGPL's top players, including Order of Merit winner Pukhraj Singh Gill, Gaganjeet Bhullar, Karandeep Kochhar, and Aman Raj, will be competing this week. He also mentioned breakout stars like Veer Ganapathy and other young talents, alongside mentors and icons like SSP Chawrasia and Gaurav Ghei, who are set to elevate the next generation of golfers. More plans to enhance the golf ecosystem will be shared in the coming weeks.
