IPL 2026 Schedule: Indian Premier League 2026 is to start from March 28, although its schedule has not been announced. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has said that the IPL 2026 schedule will be released in a day or two – probably on March 12 or at the most on March 13.
Speaking to Cricbuzz on Tuesday (March 10), BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia said, “We are hoping to release the IPL schedule in a day or two. It will be a two-phase schedule and we will release the first phase, which will cover the first 20 days, on March 12 or 13. The second phase schedule will be announced after the Election Commission of India announces the assembly election dates.”
West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam and Kerala will go to elections this summer, and the IPL timeline will surely be affected by the election dates in at least three, or all four, states. For this reason BCCI will announce the schedule in two phases.
“We are waiting for confirmation from some centres. As soon as we get their confirmation, we will announce the dates for the first phase,” Saikia said.
Apart from this, he also informed that this IPL season there will be a new IPL venue, Raipur. Apart from this he also confirmed that the upcoming season will not go beyond May 31.
