Welsh actress Eve Myles is one of the stars of the moment having graced our screens in a slew of gripping TV dramas recently, from The Guest and Coldwater to The Hack.

Now, she's is stepping into another high-profile role as she portrays Detective Annie Cassidy in ITV's Gone. Alongside Sherwood's David Morrissey, the six-part series sees Annie endeavouring to crack the enigmatic case of a vanished woman.

Whilst it's being aired on ITV1 on Sundays and Mondays for the next three weeks, viewers can also stream all six episodes on ITVX. And if you've already devoured the drama in just a few sittings, you might want to consider binge-watching another gritty series that featured Eve.

The 47-year-old took on the lead role in the Welsh noir thriller Keeping Faith, which was filmed in both Welsh and English and debuted on Welsh language channel S4C in 2017 (Un Bore Mercher) before the English version was broadcast on BBC Wales.

The series casts Eve as Faith Howells, a solicitor at a family-run law firm whose husband, Evan (portrayed by her real-life spouse Bradley Freegard), vanishes whilst she is on maternity leave following the birth of their third child, reports Wales Online.

The show was a massive hit in Wales, with an average of 300,000 viewers per episode, making it the most popular show on BBC Wales for over 25 years and, with over 8.5 million downloads by May 2018, the most downloaded non-network show on BBC iPlayer.

All three series of Keeping Faith are still available on BBC iPlayer, and it's prompted a flurry of comments on Rotten Tomatoes. One fan labelled it a "gem", stating: "A well acted gem. Real locations, even the kids in the series were believable and put in great performances. We are USA based and it beat almost anything locally made here."

Another viewer praised: "Eve Myles was spectacular in this. Definitely one of the best series and thrillers I have seen. Everything from the story the acting screenplay and the shots was fantastic. Even the music was absolutely captivating. If you haven't seen it I definitely advise you do."

A third chimed in: "Gripping without the glitz. Faith's problems make everyone else's problems seem insignificant. Closer to real life than Hollywood."

One reviewer noted: "This is a slow-burner but keeps you gripped with beautiful cinematography, suspense, and Eve Myles' award-worthy acting."

However, not all viewers were as impressed, with one expressing they were "very underwhelmed" and another commenting: "The first episode is so good that the rest of the season struggles to deliver on its promise."

Keeping Faith is available to watch on BBC iPlayer and Gone is on ITV1 and ITVX
