Transfer speculation surrounding Manchester United continues to grow despite ongoing uncertainty over their managerial situation. While Michael Carrick remains in temporary charge through to the end of the season, the club isn't rushing any decision regarding a permanent summer appointment.

Nevertheless, reports persist about potential Red Devils transfer targets when the campaign ends, as they look to strengthen a squad that's flourished under the former England midfielder's guidance. Reinforcements in midfield are expected, with names such as Adam Wharton, Elliot Anderson and Sandro Tonali reportedly featuring on their shortlist.

Meanwhile, a club legend has called on the Premier League heavyweights to prioritise attacking reinforcements, whilst Kai Rooney has progressed further in his developing career. Here, Express Sport takes a look at the latest developments emerging from Old Trafford.

Kai Rooney announcement

Having already emulated his father Wayne by representing United, Kai Rooney has now gone a step further by signing with Triple S Sports Management - the very same agency that looked after Wayne.

Operated by the United legend's trusted agent Paul Stretford, the international firm once again has a Rooney amongst its clientele, announcing the 16-year-old's arrival via Instagram.

The statement declared: "Delighted to announce the signing of @kairooney.10 to Triple S Sports! We're excited to begin working with the Manchester United forward as he continues his journey in the game. A bright future ahead."

The ex-England striker has previously spoken about his son's footballing journey, maintaining that he prefers a hands-off approach.

Speaking to the BBC last year, Wayne stated: "He has great coaches at Manchester United, so I take a stand-off approach. I speak to him, but for me it's all about his mentality and his mindset, to make sure he keeps enjoying it - that's the main thing for me."

Man Utd transfer plea

The attacking department has been a worry for some time at Old Trafford, although Benjamin Sesko's recent form may have alleviated those concerns somewhat.

However, despite the Slovenian's impressive goal-scoring streak this year, Patrice Evra is still advocating for the signing of Real Madrid starlet Endrick.

The Brazilian found game time hard to come by in Spain during the first half of the season and was loaned out to Lyon in the winter, where he has thrived in Ligue 1.

With five goals and four assists in 10 matches across all competitions, the 19-year-old is enjoying his best form since moving to Europe in 2024.

The former United ace told Stake: "If I could sign one striker for Man Utd I would choose Endrick - he would be a great signing. I've always loved watching Endrick, even when he was in Brazil. It was quite sad what happened at Real Madrid.

"He's killing it at Lyon. Lyon have a great history with bringing in Brazilian players and making them bounce back in their careers, like Juninho."
