On March 10, 2026, authorities at the Nurpur Police Station were alerted about the disappearance of a 13-year-old boy named Ayush Pathania, who lived in the village of Kadroh, under the Khairyan Post Office. The police quickly mobilized a search effort, enlisting the help of local community members.
The following day, March 11, 2026, Ayush's clothing and footwear were discovered near Greli Khad (Nagni). A thorough search of the area led to the grim discovery of the boy's body. Law enforcement and the Disaster Response Force (DFU) team promptly arrived at the scene to gather essential evidence.
The remains were transported to the Civil Hospital in Nurpur for a post-mortem examination and were later returned to the family for final rites. In connection with this case, investigations have commenced under Section 194 BNSS at the Nurpur Police Station, with the post-mortem report pending.
