LPG Crisis In India: Due to the US-Israel-Iran war, there is a shortage of LPG in many states across North India including the capital Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. A fight has started to fill gas cylinders. In many cities including Lucknow, long lines are forming outside gas agencies.

Domestic supply is normal at many places, but problems with commercial gas cylinders are increasing. This situation is also due to people waiting for gas cylinders and accumulating stock. Due to short supply of commercial LPG cylinders, more than 50,000 restaurants, pubs, bars and hotels in Delhi are facing problems in running them.

Ram Rasoi had to be closed in Ayodhya

Due to shortage of commercial gas cylinders in Ayodhya, Ram Rasoi, which used to run till 3 pm on Tuesday, had to be closed at 2 pm on Tuesday. At many places, temples have decided to cook food using wood and coal.

These days the demand is higher than normal due to wedding ceremonies and social events. The supply of LPG cylinders has been affected in Punjab. In many districts, supply of commercial cylinders to gas agencies has stopped. Hotel operators in Jalandhar say that if cylinder supply is not available, they will be forced to resort to commercial induction. Meanwhile, the supply of domestic gas cylinders is also being affected in the state.

Commercial LPG supply stopped in MP

Commercial LPG supply has stopped in many cities of Madhya Pradesh. Domestic LPG booking has also increased. Commercial LPG supply has been stopped in Bhopal from Monday and in Indore from today. There is no shortage of LPG in Himachal Pradesh right now. Here customers are being refilled after 25 days. However, the supply of commercial cylinders has also been stopped here.

Operation of 2,000 restaurants in Kolkata affected

Restaurants in Bengal including Kolkata are facing shortage of LPG. The industry association has warned that if the fuel supply does not become normal soon, the problems will increase further. Piyush Kankaria, head of the Kolkata branch of the National Restaurants Association of India (NRAI), said that there are about 5,000 restaurants in the city. Of these, about 40 percent, i.e. about 2,000 restaurants, are facing immediate disruption in their operations.

Black marketing has increased due to shortage of LPG cylinders.

Gas companies in Jammu are denying any shortage. However, shortage of commercial LPG cylinders at the ground level has led to black marketing. After the recent increase in prices, there has been a shortage of commercial LPG cylinders in some areas. The supply of commercial LPG cylinders has been banned in all districts except hospitals and educational institutions.

The Uttarakhand government has banned the supply of commercial cylinders in all the districts except hospitals and educational institutions and other commercial activities. Due to this, most of the hotel, restaurant, dhaba and banquet hall operators are facing problems. Domestic consumers will now get their second cylinder in 25 days instead of 21.
