Ador, the record label behind K-pop group NewJeans, is suing its former CEO Min Hee-jin and ex-member Danielle Marsh for 43 billion won (about $30 million) in damages.

The lawsuit, which follows a year-long dispute, claims mistreatment led to Danielle’s departure from the group and her attempt to terminate her contract.

The first hearing for the case is scheduled for March 26, 2026, at the Seoul Central District Court, according to Chosun Biz.

The legal action against Danielle, a 20-year-old Australian-born singer, comes after a Seoul district court ruled that the five members of NewJeans must honor their contracts with Ador, which runs until 2029.

In addition to Danielle, Ador is also suing Min Hee-jin for damages and as part of a penalty for breaking the contract, accusing both of playing a significant role in “causing this dispute and for NewJeans’ departure and delayed return,” according to The Guardian.

In November 2024, NewJeans made headlines when they announced plans to leave Ador, prompting the company to request an injunction against them from engaging in any commercial activities, which was granted in March 2025.

In February 2026, Min held a press conference offering to give up 25.6 billion won in put-option proceeds if Hybe dropped all civil and criminal disputes involving her and NewJeans.

She called for an environment where all five members could reunite and freely pursue their dreams.
