Laptop Price Rise: This is the perfect time to buy a laptop. It's believed that laptop and desktop prices could rise by up to 35 percent this year.

Laptop Price Rise: If you want to buy a laptop, hurry up. This is the perfect time to buy a laptop. If you miss it, you could end up paying a higher price. Rising prices of processors, GPUs, and memory components could lead to a 35 percent increase in laptop prices this year. Experts predict that rising RAM prices and a shortage of entry-level Intel processors will likely lead to increased laptop prices.

Decline Expected After Record Shipments

According to a Moneycontrol report, laptop prices are expected to rise by up to 35 percent this year. PC shipments are expected to decline by 8 percent this year, following record shipments in 2025. It's worth noting that last year, India's PC market shipped approximately 16 million units, a 10 percent increase compared to 2024. This was the first time PC shipments surpassed the 15 million mark.

Prices are starting to show an impact

Laptops have become more expensive recently due to a shortage of memory chips and rising prices of other components. Memory chip prices have increased 2.5-3 times, making laptops and desktops 10-12 percent more expensive. Another 10 percent price increase is expected this month, with similar increases expected in the coming months. Laptops that previously sold for ₹30,000-₹35,000 are now approaching ₹45,000.

No immediate relief expected

If you're thinking prices will drop in a few days, that's not likely. Experts say the situation won't return to normal for the next six to seven quarters. It's believed that the PC market will only see some relief from rising prices and component shortages in the second half of next year.
