The comments surfaced in a vlog initially uploaded to her YouTube channel on Sunday, according to The Korea Times. In the vlog, while filming at a nail salon, Freezia discussed smartphone brands with a friend. After hearing that her friend’s boyfriend uses a Galaxy Fold, the influencer said: “Honestly, if my boyfriend used a Galaxy, I think I’d kind of hate it.”
She explained that photos taken on Galaxy phones were not her preference because they have “different tones” compared with those taken on iPhones, according to Chosun Biz.
“Just imagining him taking pictures of me with that phone annoys me so much,” she said, adding that the only people she is comfortable with using Galaxy phones are her parents.
Freezia also said she has never used a Galaxy phone herself, although she once considered trying Samsung’s foldable devices.
“When the Galaxy Flip first came out it looked really pretty, so I thought about buying one,” she said. “It reminded me of old flip phones.”
Still, she said she finds iPhones easier to use after years of familiarity.
“If I try using my mom’s phone, it’s too difficult because I’ve only used iPhones,” she said.
The video had been removed from her channel as of Thursday.
Born Song Jia, the 29-year-old influencer rose to international prominence after appearing on the “Single’s Inferno” dating reality series on Netflix in 2021.
However, she later faced allegations that she had worn counterfeit luxury fashion items in her social media posts and videos. The issue drew widespread attention because Song had frequently flaunted her apparent luxury lifestyle on social media.
She later issued a handwritten apology and posted a YouTube video acknowledging the controversy.
