Co-op has expanded its Member perk personalised offers to online customers. The feature, which tailors deals and discounts to individual shoppers based on their most purchased items, was previously available in-store only, and the retailer said it could save members more than £80 a year.
Last year, Co-op announced it was increasing the number of personalised offers available to its members by 67%, bringing the total to more than 700. Personalised offers were launched across brands such as Huel, Pop Chips, Actimel and Vimto. As part of the digital changes, Co-op will also allow any money added to a membership card, such as gamification prizes or bonus offers, to be redeemed online.
Rachel Halter, Customer Director at Co-op, said: "Our data shows that an impressive 88% of our online shoppers are Co-op members, so the introduction of this popular weekly member perk online aligns with Co-op's commitment to consistently deliver value to those who own our business.
"We're continuing our journey to grow our membership base to eight million by 2030 and the evolution of our personalised offers is another way for us to showcase the many reasons to join our Co-op, alongside other fantastic money-saving benefits and perks such as first in line access to presale tickets at Co-op Live."
The news follows the grocer's announcement that Member price savings were available to shoppers via Just Eat, as well as Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Co-op's online shop.
It said 86% of the UK population now has access to Co-op groceries online, through either its own online shop, or via its delivery partners.
Co-op has also expanded its electric home delivery fleet with Toyota, investing £1.5 million to replace and upgrade its vehicle fleet, to support net zero goals.
More than 50 new vans entered service, with the investment supporting more rural communities where courier services tend to be limited or unavailable.
