Baghdad: A US military aerial refuelling aircraft carrying at least five crew members crashed in western Iraq during operations related to the conflict involving Iran, according to reports.
US forces are making efforts to carry out rescue operations following the crash. A report by the news agency Reuters said an Iran-backed Islamic group operating in Iraq has claimed responsibility for the incident.
An American official told the Associated Press that at least five personnel were on board the aircraft at the time of the crash. However, it is not immediately clear whether there were any casualties.
