New Delhi, March 13, 2026: The Government of India is committed to providing a safe digital environment for women and children in the era of increasing cyber crime. Taking an important step in this direction, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan had grandly inaugurated the ‘National Dialogue on Online Crimes against Women and Children (OCWC)’ in New Delhi. This special program was organized by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center of the Home Ministry.
On this occasion, the Home Secretary said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the government is determined to ensure a dignified digital ecosystem for women and children. The main objective of the dialogue is to strengthen institutional capacities and achieve effective coordination among all stakeholders to fight online crime.
Addressing the gathering, Govind Mohan expressed concern over the increasing challenges of cyber crimes. He had given instructions to the states and union territories to conduct timely investigation in cases of online crimes and provide immediate assistance to the victims. To create strong and specialized units in every state to fight cyber crimes. To ensure swift action against criminals so that other criminals are deterred. Social media and internet intermediaries have been directed to strictly follow the rules of the IT Act.
‘Master Trainers Induction Programme’ was also started on this inaugural occasion. A national pool of trained officers will be created through this program. These master trainers will go to their states and train district level police officers in modern techniques and best practices of cyber investigation. The national dialogue was attended by senior officials from law enforcement agencies across the country, social media representatives, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), academicians, legal experts and students. Through this platform, a collective national strategy will be formulated to meet cyber challenges.
